Welcome to the Craigantlet Riding Club website
The site is designed to give you a quick fix on what is happening in the club.
The club was formed in 1983 by proprietor Caroline McVeigh along with several enthusiastic clients of the Birr House Riding School, who wanted to set up a club offering jumping competitions on a regular basis to riders who wanted to do more than just ride once a week. When the club affiliated to the British Horse Society, the name changed to Craigantlet Riding Club.
Over the years the club has extended membership to those with horses at livery on site and to horse owners outside the campus.
The club runs independently of the Birr House Riding Centre although non horse owners are able to avail of riding school ponies thus making this one of the few clubs in Northern ireland enabling non horse owners to compete in riding activities not normally available to them.
The annual programme includes show jumping, working hunter and dressage leagues to suit all ages and nerve of rider. Interspersed with fun activities and sponsored events there is plenty for everyone.
Outside Instructors are brought in to offer specialist lessons for those wanting to extend their riding skills whilst all members have the opportunity to study for BRC exams.
